Pat has dedicated his career to the medical device industry and has successfully launched over 50 implantable and external hardware and software devices, including brain health assessment devices, ECG algorithms, heart valves and interventional and diagnostic cardiology products. He was founding CEO at NeuroChaos Solutions and contributed in Marketing and Sales leadership roles at Monebo Technologies, Sulzer CarboMedics, Mallinckrodt Medical and American Hospital Supply Corporation. Pat earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Carroll University.

Michael Gorn, MD, FAAP, completed his residency in pediatrics and was the chief pediatric resident at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. After completing a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Jacobi Medical Center in Bronx, NY, he served as faculty for emergency medicine and pediatrics residencies at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. In 2014, he took a position at Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin TX, where he served as an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of Texas Dell Medical School and a faculty member of the pediatric emergency fellowship. Dr. Gorn is currently Vice President of Clinical Operations, Texas at PM Pediatrics. During his career, Dr. Gorn has conducted and published research on brain ischemia pathways. He also developed and recently published a paper on a novel ultrasound lumbar puncture technique for infants. Dr. Gorn invented and began developing the Quickloop device in 2015. Since that time, he engaged an excellent team of colleagues and industry partners who share his vision and the mission of EM Device Lab, Inc.

Chief Clinical Officer
Matthew Wilkinson, MD, MPH, FAAP, FACEP is a pediatric emergency physician in the Department of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas and is an associate professor of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Austin Dell Medical School. Additionally, he serves as the Assistant Chair of Clinical Research for the Department of Pediatrics and Research Director for the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Wilkinson is also a co-founder of EM Device Lab.
Dr. Wilkinson earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, his medical degree from University of Connecticut, his master’s in public health from UT Houston School of Public Health. He completed a pediatrics internship and a pediatrics residency from Austin Pediatric Education Program and a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship from Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Wilkinson conducted the largest prospective clinical trial to date of “loop” drainage for skin abscesses in children. He also serves as a reviewer for Annals of Emergency Medicine.

Peter Miller is Vice President of R&D, with a focus on product development. With over 25 years of experience, Pete brings in-depth knowledge of design, development, and regulatory navigation required in the medical device industry. He previously led design teams and launched successful products for Spinal Concepts/Abbott Spine/Zimmer Spine and RTI Surgical. He has a passion for product development and a keen knowledge of how to bring a product from early concept to market acceptance. Pete earned a B.S. degree in Engineering from Texas Tech University.

Dr. Mark Rosenberg has been a leader in the field of emergency medicine for over forty years, with extensive experience in clinical emergency medicine, hospital, and organizational leadership. Board certified in Emergency Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine, he ascended to become Chair of Emergency Medicine at one of the busiest emergency departments in the US, St. Joseph’s Health in Paterson and Wayne, NJ, overseeing more than 200,000 adult and child visits annually. He currently serves as Chair Emeritus of Emergency Medicine at St. Joseph’s.
Dedicated to the field of emergency medicine, Dr. Rosenberg has been active nationally and internationally. In 2020-2021, he served as President of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). In previous years he was the ACEP Chairman of the Geriatric Emergency Medicine and the Palliative Medicine sections, and Secretary-treasurer. He also served as secretary-treasurer for the Emergency Medicine Foundation.
Dr. Rosenberg is the principal author of the Geriatric Emergency Department Guidelines, and has written many articles and chapters on geriatrics, palliative care, pain management, and emergency department innovations. Additionally, he led the teams that developed unique programs including the Life Sustaining Management and Alternatives (LSMA) and Alternatives to Opioids (ALTO) for responsible, multidisciplinary acute pain management.
Dr. Rosenberg earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Metropolitan Hospital in Philadelphia. He earned an MBA from Saint Joseph’s University, and a BA in Physics from Temple University.

Dr. Allen has been active in research, overseeing multicenter trials that focus on rapid diagnostics, novel antibiotics and management of gastroenteritis/dehydration and is Chair of the Seton Institutional Review Board. He was chosen to represent the American Academy of Pediatrics on the Infectious Disease Society of America Bone and Joint Infection Guideline Committee and has also been actively involved as a content expert for multiple evidence based guidelines at Texas Children’s Hospital and Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas.
Dr. Allen is passionate about global health and underserved populations and founded Dell Children’s Medical Global Outreach which supports a medical clinic and public health efforts in Leogane, Haiti and works with nine other children’s hospitals in North America to help train and equip pediatric residents at St. Damien’s Children’s Hospital in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Both Haiti outreaches support focused training experiences for UT Austin Dell Medical School trainees under the mentorship of Dr. Allen Dr. Allen has been the beneficiary of excellent and extensive mentorship and believes the future of medicine requires selfless, compassionate and professional role models to guide the next generation here and abroad.

Dr. Tim Ruttan completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Arizona in Tucson, and after working in a community Emergency Department he returned to academics to complete a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship in Austin, Texas. He earned a bachelor’s degree with honors from Harvard University and a medical degree with honors from Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Ruttan currently works clinically in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Dell Children’s Medical Center. He is actively involved in the education and teaching of medical students, residents and fellows at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School, where he also serves as the Transitional Year Residency Program Director. In addition, he is on a number of advisory boards and committees locally and nationally for emergency medicine and pediatric emergency medicine.

Dr. Ziebell is the Director of Behavioral Health Innovation for US Acute Care Solutions (USACS). He is immediate past Chair of the USACS Southwest Clinical Governance Board. Prior to these roles he served as the Emergency Department Medical Director Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas, the only adult level 1 trauma center in central Texas. He has served as the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Seton Family of Hospitals and the chair of the Quality and Patient Safety Committee. He also serves as the Medical Director of Seton Medical Center at Circuit of the Americas and Executive Director of the Seton Event Medicine Institute. He has served as Chief of Staff at several hospitals within the Seton Healthcare Family.
Dr. Ziebell graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College, earned his Medical Degree from the University of Minnesota, and completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at William Beaumont Hospital.

Elisa Holmertz, RA/QA, is responsible for regulatory affairs and quality assurance. Elisa has 25 years of leadership experience in the multinational biopharma and medical device industries. She has worked and lived in emerging and established markets including the USA, Belgium, Sweden, and the P.R. China. She successfully contributed at PPDI, Pfizer, Aerocrine, and Emergo Group, with responsibilities in pre-clinical, clinical, regulatory and quality functions. Elisa earned a BA from University of Texas at Austin, and has completed graduate work in Business Management and Health Economics.

Lisa is a seasoned marketing and medical education executive and consultant in the medical device and digital healthtech space. She has served at senior levels for multiple orthopedic, spine, and cardiovascular technology companies for over 20 years - Sulzer Orthopedics, Sulzer Carbomedics, Abbott Spine, LDR Spine, and Paradigm Spine. She has directed and managed all aspects of the upstream and downstream launches of more than 15 class II and 6 class III devices, both domestically and internationally. She has advised and consulted for more than 15 early stage med-tech startups and serves as a mentor at Capital Factory in Austin, TX.
Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Biology from the University of North Texas, and an MBA from Baylor University.

Prior to delving into the medical device world, he had a career as an industrial mechanical engineer, where he managed millions of dollars of steel mill equipment and was an international consultant in the industry. His passion led him back to the University of Texas where he is completing his PhD studies in one of the most prestigious biomedical laboratories in the world. He is actively involved in designing several other Class II and III medical devices.
